Dr. Sidney Levitsky

Sidney Levitsky, MD, is Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Cheever Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston. A graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Levitsky's distinguished career includes faculty positions at Yale University School of Medicine, the National Heart Institute, the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Cook County Graduate School, and Harvard. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Cardiology the American College of Chest Physicians, and the American Heart Association, and a member of dozens of other professional societies.

Dr. Levitsky's expertise is taped by numerous medical journals where he is a member of many editorial boards. He is sought after as a lecturer and author and has published more than 450 original papers, invited articles, and editorials, including books and chapters. Dr. Levitsky is a past Chairman of the STS/AATS Committee on Nomenclature and Coding.
